Conservatory Cooling Solar Inserts installed by NM-Windows.
Conservatory Cooling Solar Inserts are an innovative, highly advanced solar control system designed to reduce conservatory overheating, transforming uncomfortable ‘Too Hot or Too Cold’ conservatories into usable living spaces. Fitted directly within polycarbonate roof sheeting, Conservatory Cooling Solar Inserts are the most effective and efficient means of reducing interior temperatures, harmful UV radiation and blinding glare, controlling the level of solar energy penetration via the conservatory roof in Summer. During colder periods, our solar inserts enhance conservatory roof insulation (U Value) by increasing the resistance to heat loss, re-radiating heat built up within the conservatory, keeping the conservatory warmer for longer.
We have independently compared 3 conservatories to illustrate the effect of applying solar protection to the roof and glazed areas. The results displayed illustrate the reduction in hours spent over 26C during the course of a 12 month period.
Conservatory specification - 4 metre x 4 metre UPVC Victorian conservatory, 3 sided double glazed window units from 800mm up, 45* roof pitch, 16mm clear triple wall polycarbonate, south facing aspect, adjoining 2 story modern brick house.
The results show a staggering improvement, with a 50% reduction in hours spent over 26C with Conservatory Cooling Solar Inserts and a 75% reduction with both Conservatory Cooling Solar Inserts and Solar Window film. Therefore by treating the roof and glazed areas of a conservatory environment with solar film, you can substantially reduce the rate of heat build and the penetration of solar energy, resulting in lower interior temperatures and creating a safer environment.
